The Top Tier ranking was featured in a special U.S. News & World Report stand-alone publication released on November 1st.
The Best Law Firms ranking is based on a rigorous evaluation process of some 10,000 firms in 177 metropolitan areas. The survey includes more than 68,000 client and lawyer evaluations, peer reviews from leading attorneys, and reviews of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. To be eligible for a ranking, a law firm must have at least one lawyer who is included in Best Lawyers® as part of the annual peer review assessment.
Among the seven Utah law firms specializing in patent law that were listed in the 2013 Best Law Firms ranking, MGI was one of only four law firms appearing in the Top Tier.

The list is used as a credible means for large corporate leaders and in-house council to access the best attorneys in their fields.
